The Texas Hill Country Breweries are the ultimate day trip destination to enjoy a day in the sun sampling delicious cold craft beers and devouring delightful farm-to-table fare with your family and friends.  Many of these breweries reside on massive estates as big and beautiful as the Texas sky.  The breweries and taproom buildings themselves range from everything from an industrial warehouse with a roll-up garage door to a cute and contemporary house that belongs in town and country.  Beyond the taproom, most of these breweries have massive beer gardens filled with picnic tables along with trees to climb, rope swings, yard games, and even massive built playscapes.  And if you make it through the day, most have expansive decks to sip your saison at sunset.  Beyond all that, many of these breweries wrap their sustainable, community-focused core values into site features into activities on site – with hiking clubs, berry gathering and a working farm with baby goats to feed.  Kids and pets are welcome almost everywhere and encouraged to run free.

12 FOX BEER CO.

12 Fox Beer Co. is a beautiful hill country beer garden. You'll step into craft beer world when you enter this outdoor seating brewery.

Started by A group of US Army soldiers who began their journey at Fort Hood, Texas, and then were stationed together in Germany, 12 Fox is a celebration of simple German-style beer and how it brings us all together.  12 Fox crafts all their beer from harvested rainwater and a single-sourced malt, and the varieties are simple, clean, and delicious – from Helles on Wheels Pale Lager to the  Bouncing Bettie Belgian Dubbel.  The massive beer garden is filled with shade trees, picnic tables, and a fantastic playscape to entertain the kids for hours.  The Gummies BBQ food truck serves up perfect old-school Texas barbeque — making it easy to sit and stay a while.

FAMILY BUSINESS BEER COMPANY

Family business beer company is another fantastic texas hill country open air beer garden brewery.

It’s literally in the name and brought to you by our Friends From Supernatural… family Business is all about great beer and tribe gathering vibes.  They have a beautiful indoor tasting room – but the outdoors is really what it is all about.  Beautiful patio, and endless backyard grounds filled with picnic tables and perfect trees to climb.  And they fully embrace their name, filling their calendar with a litany of fun family-forward events!!  Here we are at their Oktoberfest filled with delicious beers, pretzel necklaces and some of the most exquisite face painting in Austin!.

FITZHUGH BREWING

Find real ale brewing, patio games, live music, local ingredients, and special events, in this brewery.

Looks like the Magnolia store or your fav gal pal’s house in Tarrytown, this women-owned brewery had a solid plan in mind when designing this place.  Fitzhugh is safe haven for parents to bring their kiddos and let them run free in the  beautiful fenced in play yard. Dominated by a missive modern playground, the outdoor space also features yard games, picnic tables, trees to climb, and a mini stage for musical guests.  The beers on tap are top notch, the food is delightfully family-friendly, and the popsicles will please both kiddos and adults alike!

JESTER KING BREWERY

Welcome to a Hill country staple, jester king brewery is a must stop destination for any texan beer lover!

Jester King is one of the OG Hill Country Destination Breweries and has grown to be one of the best places to drive out and spend the day with friends and family.  Located on a 165-acre ranch in the Texas Hill Country, Jester King is a brewery, restaurant, farm, and event hall dedicated to serving the community and preserving the land.  Multiple bars on the property serve thirsty visitors Jester King craft beers, farmhouse cider, and wine — and there truly is something to please every palate.  The Jester King kitchen serves up top-notch wood-fired pizza and delightful seasonal specials.  And after loading up on food and drink, there are acres of farmland to hike and explore and lots of hungry little goats to feed.

TWISTED X BREWING

Alright, Alright, Alright – the brewers of the delightful cult favorite McConauhaze are just as smooth as this citrus-hopped IPA.  The airy tasting room at Twisted X Brewing always has a delicious selection of home and guest craft beers on tap.  And the covered patio is the perfect place to beat the heat and enjoy the brews.  Giant Jenga, cornhole, and trees with pirate faces carved into the gnarled wood complete the Austin vibe and keep things just the right amount of weird.
